Family Missions Project
Leader: Sarah Jones | | Ext. 225
This fall, families on the Hill are invited to put gratitude into action as we say thank you to the first responders who faithfully serve our community!
From September 6–October 25, kids and families can donate individually wrapped snacks that will be packed into gratitude baskets and delivered to local police stations, fire stations, and hospitals.
How Your Family Can Participate
SHOP
Pick up a few requested items together as a family:
- Individually wrapped granola or protein bars
- Dried fruit or trail mix
- Chomps sticks or beef jerky
- Individually wrapped sweet treats or candy
- Individually wrapped salty snacks
Please, no drinks.
Donations can be placed in the collection bin located in the Kids check-in area beginning September 6.
SHARE YOUR GRATITUDE
Kids and adults are also encouraged to make handwritten cards thanking our local first responders for the ways they care for and protect our community.
PACK
On Sunday, October 25, families are invited to stay after church and help turn all of the donated items into gratitude baskets.
DELIVER
Families can take the mission one step further by volunteering to deliver the baskets to our local first responders.
This is a simple way to help our kids discover that serving others can become a way of life. Whether you're shopping, writing a card, packing a basket, or making a delivery, every family can have a part.
And don't forget to capture the fun! Take a photo while your family shops for donations or delivers a basket and share how your family is serving together.
Let's go ALL IN and show our first responders just how grateful we are for them!
