All In for the Next Generation: Ryan & Beth Wilson’s Story

Some moments of discipleship are planned.
Others unfold in ways you never expected.

For Ryan and Beth Wilson, stepping into student discipleship wasn’t something they set out to do, but it’s become one of the most meaningful ways they’re living out their faith today.

Finding Their Place

Ryan and Beth began attending Church on the Hill in 2019, just before Covid hit. They were drawn in by friendships and a desire for deeper community. What they found was more than a place to attend; it was a place to belong.

As relationships grew through small groups, women’s gatherings, and shared life, so did opportunities to serve. What started with simple steps (serving communion, helping with announcements, connecting with others) gradually became something more.

“We felt pulled to go All In: to serve and love God and love His people.”

But it wasn’t until they saw the impact of the student ministry in their own family that something deeper began to stir.

Saying Yes to the Next Generation

Watching their children grow in their faith changed everything.

As their students became more involved (serving, building friendships, and stepping into their own faith) Ryan and Beth felt a new calling: to invest not just in their own kids, but in others.

That “yes” led them to co-lead a High School student D-Group.

And in just a short time, it became one of the most impactful parts of their journey.

“Working with the teens has been something that came as a surprise… and now I just want to keep showing up: serving them, walking with them, and watching them grow in their faith.”

Discipleship That Goes Both Ways

For Ryan, leading a group of teenage boys has been both a responsibility and a personal challenge.

“Our teens are facing pressures that are a swipe away, things we never dealt with growing up. My hope is to give them perspective… that surrendering to Jesus is what carries you through every day.”

But what’s been most powerful is this:

Discipleship isn’t one-directional.

It’s shaping them, too.

“Leading the group has pushed me back into God’s Word… and reminded me daily what it looks like to follow Jesus.”

Beth has experienced something similar, finding joy not just in leading, but in being present.

“I love serving them dinner, sitting with them, and just being part of what God is doing in their lives.”

Creating Space for What Matters Most

Through their leadership, Ryan and Beth are helping create something simple, but powerful:

A space where students feel known, supported, and pointed toward Jesus.

And that’s how disciples are multiplied.

Not just through teaching, but through presence, consistency, and relationship.

“They’re paving their future… and it’s amazing to be a part of that.”

All In Looks Different for Everyone

For the Wilsons, going All In didn’t start with a big decision.

It started with small steps:

showing up
building relationships
saying yes when opportunities came

And over time, those small steps led to Kingdom impact.

“Serving looks different for everyone… but it starts with connection. Come to church. Make friends. Do life together—and you’ll find ways to help others along the way.”
