Finding Home and Saying Yes: Ariel Boone's ALL IN Story

September 24, 2026

For Ariel Boone, going ALL IN didn’t begin with knowing exactly where she fit or having everything figured out. It began with finally finding a place that felt like home and being willing to say yes.

Ariel and her husband came to Church on the Hill a little over a year ago and became members in November 2025. After years of moving and repeatedly starting over in new churches and communities, something felt different when they arrived on the Hill.

“I have always felt called to serve in the Church, but it took me a long time to find my church ‘home,’” Ariel shared. “When my husband and I moved to Sugar Hill and found a church we loved, I knew we had found home. For the first time, I felt able to let my guard down and discover how to use my voice for the Lord.”

And Ariel has been using that voice, both literally and figuratively.

Today, she serves on the worship team, and she and her husband lead a small group together. Through both, Ariel has discovered opportunities not only to serve others, but also to grow in her own faith and build the kind of genuine relationships she had been searching for.

“Being at Church on the Hill has positively impacted my life in so many ways,” she said. “I feel closer to the Lord, and I’ve learned to recognize His voice and presence in my life more than ever before.”

But Ariel’s heart for serving extends well beyond Sunday mornings.

Growing up, Ariel had a close relationship with an uncle who suffered a severe traumatic brain injury when he was three years old. That relationship gave her a deep love and appreciation for individuals with disabilities and their families, a passion that continues to shape the ways she serves today.

She has been involved with organizations including Java Joy and Extra Special People (ESP) of Atlanta, and recently, that passion intersected with her Church on the Hill community in a special way.

Ariel and her husband joined their small group in serving at Friends U Need in Suwanee, spending time with adults with special needs.

“We sang karaoke, played Jenga, laughed, and simply enjoyed getting to know everyone,” Ariel recalled. “It was one of those experiences that left my heart so full and reminded me just how much joy there is in connecting with and serving others.”

That experience captures something important about what it means to be ALL IN.

Serving isn’t simply about filling a position or completing a project. It’s about allowing God to use who He has made us to be: the experiences He has given us, the passions He has placed on our hearts, and the gifts He has entrusted to us to love people well.

Sometimes we discover those gifts only after we’re willing to take the first step.

That’s exactly what Ariel would tell someone who is considering serving but isn’t sure where to begin.

“You don’t have to know exactly where you fit or what your gifts are yet; sometimes you discover those things simply by saying ‘yes,’” she said. “Serving has given me opportunities to meet incredible people, step outside of my comfort zone, and use the gifts God has given me in ways I never expected.”

For Ariel, that yes has led to worship, leadership, friendship, service, and a deeper relationship with Jesus. It has also transformed Church on the Hill from somewhere she attends into somewhere she belongs.

“This church has become so much more than a place we attend; it truly feels like home.”

And maybe that’s one of the beautiful things about going ALL IN. As we offer ourselves to God and make room to serve others, He often uses those same opportunities to help us grow, find our people, and discover more of who He created us to be.

Ariel’s encouragement is simple: Find something that speaks to your heart. Show up. Say yes. And be open to where God may lead you.

Because you never know what God might do with your yes.
